to the Marsal Lyon Literary Agency. Updated
submission guidelines are below.——————
Reminder: Newer agents are golden opportunities for new writers because they’re likely building their client list; however, always make sure your work is as perfect as it can be before submitting, and only query agencies that are a great fit for your work. Otherwise, you’re just wasting time and postage.

About Kathleen: She is a new literary agent building her client list at Waterside Productions (and now Marsal Lyon Literary). Kathleen entered the publishing world with an internship at the Sandra Dijkstra Literary Agency, and from there she started at Waterside Productions in 2009 as a literary assistant. She has her MA in English with a specialization in children’s literature. To learn more about what she’s looking for, check out her interview on the young adult lit blog, Love YA.
She is seeking: YA and MG fiction across the board (historical fiction, science fiction, mystery, humor, fantasy, romance, thriller, and horror), picture books, and adult nonfiction (business, parenting, how-to, women’s interest, humor, health, crafts).
How to submit: You can send your electronic submissions to her at kathleen@marsallyonliteraryagency.com. For fiction submissions, please write “QUERY” in the subject line of the e-mail and include your query letter with the first 10 pages of your work in the body of your e-mail. For nonfiction submissions, please e-mail her your query letter and your complete proposal as an attachment.

She’s moved to the Marsal Lyon Literary Agency! Announced June 2 on her twitter.
She wants the 50 pages as Word or PDF attachment. See Question 6 answer of her interview at http://monibw.blogspot.com/2011/03/interview-with-agent-kathleen-rushall.html
Becca,
I posted mine within the body of the e-mail and she read the whole thing and requested the full. I ended up signing with her. She is just as fabulous as she sounds!
Good luck!
She sounds great! One question I can’t seem to find answered anywhere is whether she wants the 50 pages attached as a Word document or pasted in the email. Most agents don’t want unsolicited attachments, but it would be hard to read 50 pages if it’s pasted in the email. Does anyone know?
Thanks for the alert. I’m excited because Kathleen likes fantasy like I write. Now if I can finish my revisions.
